We have just sailed across from Menorca, Spain to Sardinia Italy. It was 198 nautical miles and took about 30 hours. We left at 7am and arrived at 1pm next day. Here are some interesting details:
Top speed - 9.1 knots (18 km/h) Average speed - 6.5 knots (13 km/h) Sailing done - 13 hours (otherwise motorsailing) Fish cought - zero Meals - breakfast, muesli with fruit and yogurt. Lunch, pasta salad with tuna and sweetcorn. Dinner, steak and kidney pie. Breakfast, muesli etc again. Lunch, toasty fry pan sandwiches. In between snacks, many. Overnight watches 3 hour shifts starting from 6pm. Dolphins sighted - 2 Large ships avoided in the night - 1 All in all a good passage and a lovely destination. We will relax now and do some more exploring tomorrow.
