We sailed up yesterday to Cavtat where you clear in through customs etc. The officials here have a reputation for being a bit grumpy but they were very helpful and friendly.
Cavtat is only 5 miles from Dubrovnik so we got the bus in this morning for a look around. A very beautiful old walled city but jam packed solid with tourists (like us). Now we are anchored near a wee island just out from the city, probably stay here tonight and then head north a bit

So, how was the check in process? Did they really need to see insurance documents translated into the local language? Did they really need some sort of an official certificate stating that you knew how to sail a boat? (Seems to me a nz drivers license should be good enough!). Or...did they really just want money???

Very easy check in. All they wanted to see was boat registration and passports. Didn't even look at insurance or skippers licence. But they do want lots of your money and they want it everwhere you go. Early days yet but we are looking forward to getting back to Greece.
