Cabrera (see prevoius post) is a hard place to stop taking photos. View from the castle View of the castle. Aztec Gold with castle backdrop. You are not allowed to anchor here so as not to damage the sea grass. However there are 50 moorings available for a small fee . Well worth the price.

Cabrera is a small island near Mallorca which is a national park. It is an amazingly beautiful place with a great natural harbour. Also jet skis, party boats and loud music are not allowed so it is very peaceful. There are lots of walks on the island and even a castle. It is one of the best places we have visited. Before we left Ibiza we had a night in a marina. The parking is quite tight. We bought a new little BBQ and gave it a try. The castle at Cabrera above the little harbour. The harbour from the castle Going up into the castle.
Unfortunetly this is the only photo I got of the foam party. After this the foam go all over the camera lense This is where the party is at tonight. You can see there is quite a big crowd already.
The sun is out and it makes everything seem better. This is more like what the brochure promised. Tomorrow we might go over to Ibiza and go to a few all night naked foam parties before starting to head east.
Formentera is the island next to Ibiza where we have been for a few days. It was raining, cold and grey for the first few days but the sun is out now so we have done some exploring. I also got our new stand-up paddle board out for the first time. It is Sunday today so the anchorage is mad busy. We are in Denia port for a few days visiting our friends Dave and Fi who live nearby. From here we will leave the mainland coast and head for Ibiza.
Reaching this point means we have sailed the entire coast of mainland Spain, both the Atlanic side and now the Med side. Ibiza and the other Balearic islands are also Spain so we havn't quite finished with Spain yet. We had a great day exploring Valencia by bike. Valencia is very bike friendly with a big park through the middle. The park (Turia gardens) used to be a river running through the city so it goes on for miles. Not sure what they did with the water?
After a few days of hanging about waiting for some mail to come from the UK we are finally underway. We left early this morning and sailed 30 miles down the coast. This is the town of Rapita where AG was stored for the winter. Sailing down the coast Amanda on watch. It is still a bit chilly out on the water. An old castle we passed along the way.
After a busy week we are back in the water. We travelled about 200 meters and anchored outside the marina for the night. Today we are back in the marina as we are waiting for some mail to arrive. Once that arrives we will head south along the coast.
Today is Saturday and we are nearly ready to go back in the water. We go in on Monday.
It has been quite blowy latley so we are not sad about being still on land. We have been working hard which is a bit of a shock after six months sitting in an office. We can have a wee rest once we are floating. |
